One – Unclutter Your Life. You feel a rush of inspiration when you clear out old stuff that is no longer useful in your life: If it is not worn in then recycle it for others to use, donate to charity. Release yourself of unwanted clothes, toys, books, household stuff, that old bike, have a good clear out!
Two – Clear your Calendar of any Unwanted or Unnecessary Activities or Organisations. This will free up you time for more focused activities. Say NO to any overbearing demands to free up spare time for more leisure and fun activities into your daily routines.
Three – Be Sure to Keep Your Time Free. Keep your eye out for invitations and functions that will enhance your well-being and personal development and give you pleasure. Spend your time wisely in whatever ways fill you with happiness and joy.
Four – Take time for Meditation and Yoga. Give yourself at least 20 mins a day to sit quietly and consciously reflect. The rewards are powerful you will feel less stressed and inspired by what you’ll be able to do with your body in a very short time.
Five – Return to the Simplicity of Nature. There is nothing more awe-inspiring than nature itself. The natural energies of the trees, forest, woodlands, streams, mountains are positively uplifting and re-energising soothing your mind, body, emotions and spirit. A few hours or even moments in the park regularly enhance these feelings.
Six – Put Distance between You and Critics. Choose to spend time with like-minded people. Remove yourself from people who find fault with you and are confrontational. Life is simpler when you spend time with people who support you and you don’t feel the need to defend yourself. Be polite and say to those who do throw negative comments at you that you will consider any criticisms then walk away as conflict is not necessary.
Seven – Take Some Time for Your Health. Consider carefully what you put into your body, the amount of food and types of food you eat and exercise your body daily as it is an essential part of you that needs your care and consideration. Respect your body so it can take greater care of you.
Eight – Play, Play, Play! Have fun enjoy playing, be around children and enjoy playing with them, laughter and frivolity is inspiring.
Nine – Slow Down. Gandhi said, “There is more to life than increasing it’s speed”. Slow your breathing down, slow your speech down, learn not to interrupt others, listen more, slow down your physical pace, take the time to be consciously aware of slowing down your busy mind take time to observe more.
Ten – Do Everything you Can to Eschew Debt. In attempting to simplify your life remember you don’t need to keep purchasing things and clutter your life. If you can’t afford it then wait until you can. Going into debt adds layers of anxiety onto your life. Anxiety takes away your peace and creates worry. When you have to work harder to pay off debts you are less happy and life is not enjoyable.
Eleven – Forget About the Cash Value. Thinking about money all the time can be distractive. Focus on what your heart tells you will bring you joy rather than determining if it’s cost effective. Your happiness in life is not based the material there is more value in things that have no price tag.
Twelve – Remember Your Spirit. When life gets overly complex, too fast, too cluttered, too deadline orientated, too driven, stop and remember your spirit. Live your life in harmony, more simply. A more peaceful life style will feed your mind, emotions, body and soul.
