Regulatory Body and Ethics

Both Joy and John are registered and licensed to practice by bothThe National Hypnotherapy Society and The National Counselling Society. Joy is registered as a Senior Accredited member of the National Counselling Societywhile John is registered as a Senior Practitioner with GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register) and is also a Qualified Hypnotherapy Supervisor with NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy). Both Joy and John are Accredited Members of the Hypnotherapy Society.

These are all professional bodies that strive to maintain the highest standards for individual hypnotherapists and counsellors and all belong to the Accredited Voluntary Register, a Government organisation which ensures the quality of service and professionalism for the bodies themselves and the therapists who are registered with them.

All of our qualifications have been verified by these bodies ensuring that we meet their criteria for professional standards. All bodies have a strict Code of Ethics which we wholeheartedly support, including the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) code of conduct for the professionalism and protection it ensures for both the therapist and the client.

In addition, all personal client information is kept strictly confidential unless legal obligations dictate otherwise, (usually relating to criminal issues and issues of self-harm).

Joy is also a member of the UK Reiki Federation.

Joy Sackett Wood and John Sackett are independent practitioners. Swans Therapy is a trading name only and not a registered company
